EAX HD greyed out in Audigy 2 zs
Hello Guys,
I have an Audigy 2 zs, which did have EAX HD at first but after i formatted my computer and reintalled everything, has been greyed out. So i know for a fact that it does or has worked before. I don't have the original cd but i downloaded the drivers and mediasource aplication which installs EAX HD. First i installed the drivers and then the mediasource application. But it is greyed out, the EAX HD. And i do have another sound device "Soundmax integerated digital audio" under the device manager but i have disabled it. Any suggestions to fix this problem, would be appreciated. |

EAX is greyed out where? sounds like you need updates possibly from Creative site..use driver cleaner.

It is grey out under file menu of mediasource player and organizer. I uninstalled everything then first reintalled the OEM drivers from gateway and then installed the mediasource app but that didn't. I have also tried to the drivers from creatives website and then installed the mediasource app but still doesn't work.

Yes i have tried those as well but the driver would not install because it says that i don't have right device on my system even though i am absolutely positive that i have audigy 2 zs and drivers from creative work fine but its EAX HD which is giving me a hassle. Do any if you guys an other alternative. And where can i get the installation CD for this.

I have tried the pax drivers and an iso image of the installation cd for Audigy 2 ZS. Both of them come up with the same error saying that the device for which i am trying to intall the drivers for, is not detected or present.
Even though i took out the card and it is audigy 2 zs. If I installed latest web drivers from creative they install fine but its just that i can't get any EAX HD. Robert do you think that gateway cd that you have can work for this. B/c techincally the iso image of the original should work. |

When you say you've disabled it, did you do it under Device Manager or in the BIOS? You need to disable it in the BIOS in order to remove the device entirely.
