This old Audigy 1 SB0090. drivers and YouP Pax

This is a repost from the YouP Pax forums placed here as there is greater traffic..

I have an Audigy 1 (SB0090) card and YouP Pax 2.32 and have been having driver problems. Basically games like Half-Life 2, World or Warcraft.. anything that supports 5.1 sound was now only doing 2.1, but a bit mirrored. The speaker test in the Creative app was doing left, center as left and right, right, left rear as left and right rear as right. Nothing from the rear speakers. It was not always this way and I can't figure what I may have done.

A few times after making sure the settings for 5.1 were correct I found the Hardware Acceleration at one up from Basic. Also I ran the dxdiag.exe and did the audio test. The sounds played fine in Software Buffers, but nothing played in hardware. Does the Audigy 1 do hardware buffering in DirectX?

Barring anyone knowing a solution, what is the recommended YouP Pax driver and the steps to install them for an orginal Audigy 1? I'd love to have an ISO or a single file I could install, but not necessary.

Thx for letting me know, I'll handle all issues on the site. due to hardware of Audigy1 is different from Audigy2 series and we do Mods only, this great card can get new features only if drivers are reprogrammed as I mentioned on my members guide and Q&A on my forum. I strongly suggest you install Audigy4 apps which can be grabbed on YouP PAX, and install the latest CT official drivers from www.creative.com.
In my opion, Audigy SB0090 can do hardware buffering in DirectX. I've fond some stuffs which prabably can give help with errors of your OS: http://www.smartcomputing.com/editor...6r03/36r03.asp
My boss Hardmodded Audigy2 by flashing BIOS but it doesn't work as an Audigy2, hence it proves design of the hardware is a little differ from Audigy2 series as we found one chip obmitted on PCB if comparing with an Audigy2/Audigy2 ZS. (may not only caused by this layout of PCB)

So you are saying I should install the Audigy 4 ISO patched for other cards, the iso app patch, then install the official drivers, such as the newly released SBXF PCDRV LB 2.09.0001? I've got to really clean out the driver and app files and registry entries. My thought is something messed with my DirectX sound, causing the driver to have problems.

What sound card are the YouP Pax drivers for mainly? 2ZS and Audigy 4 users? And what is "YouP Pax" anyhow? A name?

I'll look over SovietDoc's guide to see if that works for me.

I mean you install Audigy4 ISO but drivers...get drivers from creative official.
Audigy2/ZS series can be turned to Audigy4 Pro but Audigy1 can't.
If it works, then its very good enjoy it.
For Audigy1 the steps for installation would be:
1, download and install Audigy4 ISO in the meantime discircle "Windows Drivers"
2, Reboot
3, download and install YouP-PAX drivers or Creative official drivers
4, Reboot.

I downloaded the Audigy 4 YouP Pax modified for Audigy 1/2, etc cards. I'm not having any luck with this install either. I cleaned out the apps, registry entries and used Driver Cleaner... safe mode, the works. When I go to install I select the region, then the language and I get this:

"Setup is unable to detect a supported product on your system. Please ensure that your product is prpperly installed before running this Setup program. Setup will exit."

I did not get to a point where I deselect the "Windows Drivers" which is probably after this dialog. My card is an Audigy SB0090 if that makes a difference.

Should this have been the official driver ISO with no modifications?

This is not supposed to occur. but if it does because
a) your card's ID is not added to "soundcard check" text file.
b) your soundcard's BIOS is corrupted.
One of these reason above. the solution is
a) add support of your card to the text file.
b) if a) does not work, flash BIOS of your sound card.
It's difficult to get softmod kept up as I haven't touched softmod for long time. But I still can give you some help which has been replied at thread you posted in YouP-PAX
