DirectX
I have an old program that I would like to use. During installation it states that I must install DirectX 6.0. I have DirectX 9.0c installed. Do I just trash the old app.? Any ideas?

Are you able to skip that part of the install? It should work without it. I don't believe it would harm anything even if it was allowed to install it. The system should retain the latest DX files and not allow them to be overwritten. If a popup screen should appear asking you if you want to replace a newer file with an older one click no though. What is the program? Sometimes there are workarounds for such issues.

It won't complete the install unless I click yes to install. I might click yes and see what happens. I have 9.0c on disc.

I told it to install and nothing really happened.Ver.9.0c is still there and the program I was trying to install completed setup and works.

alot of those old games will force you to open the directX installer, which will then realise you have a higher version, and then let the rest of the installation continue

It isn't a game it is a Broderbund architectural design program and it didn't sound greatly promising as to running going by their lack of support site.
