X-Fi Software\Hardware incompatibility problems Need Help please.
A post I made earlier to Creative forums. Alas i have not had an answer to my problem offered to me as yet.
Hi to all, This is a first post and i'm hoping that someones gonna have an answer for me as i am pulling my hair out in frustration. Ok heres the problem. My software was installed correctly as was the hardware, my bios is upgraded ( all onboard sound disabled, and on and on), and all would appear to be working as per normal, i.e. I am able to hear Media Player,My recording sofware is playing back music etc. However when i try to open any piece of Creative software bar the Product registration app i am revealed this extremely annoying and frustrating piece of prose "There are no supported audio devices available. You need to close the application. Click Ok to close the application now."!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So what this is telling me is that Creatives software does not recognise that the X-Fi is available and therefore unusable. Whereas the Device manager and Sandra Sisoft and Micrisift sound and every other app used to view device connectivity would tell me otherwise, that in fact the device is working perfectly, not sharing an IRQ that i can see and that all should be going to plan. I have used Driver Cleaner Platinum to clean the Creative Drivers,Cab and Service Packs. I have used a file duplicate finder to seek out any duplicate files that are on the installation disk, to crosscheck and see if anything still resided on my C rive(plenty of em, in the registry and System32 folder). I have Defragged my C drive with Perfect Disk 8 online and offline and boot directories. I still am getting this message after installation again. So I have repeated this tedious procedure even more completely this time and now having nothing installed, and with a blank canvass i come here hoping to find some pearls of wisdom ,a fix, a solution. I have trawled through every forum i could find for the past two days before posting this message looking for a fix. I found an article with the same problem on this site for the extreme music X-Fi but with no definitive solution that i hadn't already tried. So the question i need undoubtably answered is thus................ Does anyone know how to fix this particular problem. Thanks in Advance Kind Regards Angryman
