Hello,
I am at the end of my rope with this one. FOr no apparent reason, my sound started acting really funny on my laptop. I have plent of RAM (1GB), a 100GB HD and a pretty fast processor. Everything was working fine but now whenever I listen to music or have any sound at all on my computer, it is extremely slow and sounds like the whole machine is struggling just trying to keep up. Music skips and it almost sounds like a tape recorder slowing down. I have tried to update the realtek HD audio driver, but that did nothing. I am almost wondering if this is a hardware issue, or if there is a known conflict with some shareware that is out there. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

You could try some thing and it is a little off the wall.
Try one of the Linux boot disks, it should have the drivers for your laptop. That would tell you w/o a doubt if the issue is software or hardware. |
