I have narrowed the choice for a new soundcard down to:
Turtle Beach Santa Cruz Philips Acoustic Edge Philips Seismic Edge 2 I currently have a 2.1 setup and will be going to 5.1. I am looking mostly at a good gaming card. I play MP3 and do a small amount of DVD watching. Guess I need a decent all around card that sounds great in games and isn't a Creative! Shoot me some opinions... would like to buy one tonight!

I switched from the Audigy Gamer and I love this card. Very simple to use, great quality and works wonderful in games. I think the TB's have better drivers in 2K/XP as well. Nice being able to play MP3's/CD's with virtual 5.1.

I have an Acoustic Edge and love it. If the Seismic Edge is the model right below the Acoustic Edge it is basicly the same card without s/pdif in and out, so it is still a great card. Fully Dolby 5.1 and EAX 2.0 compliant and the QSound audio enhancers are great. I use them instead of dolby for my 5.1 DVD setup.
I don't think you can go wrong with any of those cards though. |

Well, got a deal I couldn't refuse on the Acoustic Edge.
This thing sounds worlds better than my Live! did! Thanks everyone for your input.

Acoustic Edge 6 speaker sound
Rythmic Edge 4 speaker sound Sysmic Edge 2 speaker sound All of them use the same core processor... but the features range from a basic stereo card to a kickin 5.1 surround sound card. |
