5.1 surround issues - please assist

Hi I have just bought a pair of Yatai 5.1 speakers off ebuyer and trying to get them to work with my Dell Dimension E520 which has a Sigmatel STAC927X5 onboard audio(well thats what it sas on the chip!).

The speakers play music perfectly in iTunes and media player but when playing COunterstrike Source the surround does not appear to be working. I have changed the settings in WIndows to 5.1, the speakers on 5.1 setting and in game audio settings to 5.1 but sometimes 2 diagonal speakers play in the soundtest and the sub does not make any noise.

I don't really know what this kx driver is or if it is compatible wiht my card - any assistance for a newbie would be welcomed.

Thanks

kX is only compatible with sound cards with 10kX (10k1 & 10k2) DSP chip.
Sound Blaster Live, EMU APS & Audigy series.. a more comprehensive list here:

As MD6 indicated, kX is not compatible with your integrated audio.

You would be better off posting your question is a Dell support forum, or possibly a Counterstrike support forum (if that is the only game that is giving you trouble).

I think that to have 5.1 in games you must have some kind of hardware accelereation, and I don't know if onboards do that..
