great aint it?? you can have it for fre.. nope you have to pay 10$, you have to love Creative driver support!!

Well at least it's not news that creative has crappy support, drivers or otherwise.

This is why I keep wishing some other company would come along and be able to emulate all the EAX effects and more advanced effects and then proceed to topple creative's sound card dominance. I mean there are other brands out there but none of them will do EAX effects. (minus the recent auzentech)

Seriously this sucks so hard for unsuspecting users who upgrades to vista on a whim.

There was a version for the X-fi's that removed the EAX5 check from the application and it worked fine for the Audigy's it was actually on the CL site for a while.

HERE is the link to the post in Creatives forums about the hacked X-Fi drivers (the one that Robscix mentioned), along with the download link. I still can't believe Creative hasn't pulled this.

Oh, and they work like a charm, btw.

It was cracked along time ago. I knew CL was telling lies when they said the Audigy version needed special routines. Go find it, it came out about two-three weeks ago..
The EAX 5 check needed to be removed that is all...

I have an Audigy 2 ZS and just got the the Creative Labs Alchemy Audigy ver. 1.00.05 and downloaded the Creative ALchemy 1.00.03 (16 Mar 2007) from the link you provide up here.

Is it better to use the full package .05 or this easy .03??

Doesn't really matter, main difference is that .05 in $10 more, AFAIK.
