Vista - Music/Sound Stutters

This is really annoying, At first I was using an Altec Lansing 2.1 Speaker system hooked up via normal jack to onboard sound. Playing games/music the sound randomly stutters I thought ok maybe The onboard sound and vista dont want to play nice, So a friend lets me use his Bose speaker system which uses USB, Still the same problem. I uninstall the sound drivers boot into BIOS and disable onboard sound, come back and still the stuttr persists.

This is a C2D E6320, 2gb Ram. Im not the only one to have this problem and all google comes up with is different variations of the same question. Next step would probibly be to partition my harddrive and reinstall vista to see if I have the same problem.
