Donator
??? Help me choose a DTS Sound Card!

Ello ppl,

I'm after a DTS sound card, it needs to be able to do DTS on the fly (using my optical cable from the amp) this will enable my 5.1 speakers to work in games.

What do you guys suggest?

that would be DTS decoding

i'm not sure that any soundcards actually encode DTS (6.1), some, like the X-Meridian, encode AC-3 (5.1) on-the-fly though

DTS is 5.1, DTS-EX is 6.1. I asked about 6 tech's at Creative about decoding features on the Audigy 2 Value and I got these answers:
1. The cards does Not decode anything.
2. The card only Decodes Dolby Digital
3. The card decodes Dolby Digital and DTS.
I have not verified any of it yet but this is what CL told me...Dolby Digital for sure and possibly DTS? -What great tech support.

Currently the X-Meridian, Sondigo Inferno and Blue Gears B-Inspirer and other 8788 based cards all support Dolby Digital-Live and DTS-Connect real-time encoding technologies. The New X-fi Prelude will also support these technologies, as they will be added through software updates after launch.
