help enabling realtek coax spdif

Hi all, I have a DFI CFX3200 and I am trying to enable the SPDIF coax out. I installed the latest Realtek HD Audio drivers for XP and I have connected the cable from the output port to my AV Receiver. I also went into Realtek control panel and enabled SPDIF digital output (also tried pass-through), but alas no sound. Went into windows volume control and SPDIF is still greyed out, and I can't find the option in Windows sound to turn it on.

I know the mini 3.5" jacks auto-detect a connection, but the coax does not. How can I solve this? Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
