Question about Creative X-Fi Platinum Fatal1ty Champion!

I just bought a very good Definitive home theater system and want to hook it up to my computer with the best possible connection. My idea is to use a optical connection from my receiverinto my receiver, but I have a question!

I was looking at:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16829102014

The question I had was I see on the front connection where you mount it by a cd drive that it has a optical out.

So if I were to use that would it work as my audio out with out using anything else? And would it sound good just as good?

Thanks!

It would sound great but remember you'll be limited to stereo unless you let the HT system add surround types.

Well thats my current problem I have it hooked up with just the standard stereo hook up now with my older sound card but I was thinking with optical it would give me the full surround sound of the PC like PC speakers get when they can use all the back inputs?

I don't want to let the receiver to fake the surround sound since thats not really the point in a game or something lol? So I guess if I can't get full 5.1 with that optical then I will not buy it...

Sorry man if you want the true gaming experience you'll have to output the analog to the receivers 5.1 analog inputs.

Well I hope you don't mind but I am a bit lost when you say analog inputs?

I have analog inputs on my receiver and use them on a different receiver for my hd-dvd player? Are those the ones you are talking about?

I am a little lost on what you mean?

Most receives include 5.1 inputs for all the channels. They should stand out pretty well if you have them.

I do have them but don't know how you would connect it to a PC that way?

Since all the connections on the sound card are like front left and right for one, sub and center for another, Rear left and right for the other?

you'd need to use one 3.5 stereo jack to 2X RCA adaptor cable per stereo pair to connect up to your HT system

rYu.Gonzales is on a distinguished road

I got this soundcard. I connected Sharkoon X-Tatic 5.1 via Fibre Cable. Sound is quite nice but since i used to have Youpax Drivers i miss the Sound Advantage of them to mulitplayer games.

Any suggestion which YouPax Driver to use. Another is question is:
Im having problem trying to watch DVD with dolby digital filter. It seems there is no hardware decoder enabled on the card
