5.1 audio in vista
Hi
I have a Asus K8V SE Deluxe motherbaord with Soundmax AD1980 onboard 5.1 audio, the problem is that there is no vista drivers for this and vista default to ac97 drivers with on give me sound through the green jack for 2 speakers, the others make no sound at all. Is there a way round this like the soundblaster cards or even better is there a driver that will allow 5.1 audio for this board. If there is no driver can someone advise me what 5.1 or 7.1 card work properly in vista. Preferrable one that work straight away without any awkward tweaks. Any help would be great Thanks |

Soundmax AD1980 is a Analog Devices Audio Driver.... ZERO support from realtek which is a completely different company and chip altogether..
 Unfortuneatly, i've had nothing but constant issues with SoundMax onboard solutions.... and intels audio department is also a freaking mess.. I've yet to find anything else remotely as good as realtek... Auzentech probably is your best choice imo.... but i'm not sure how they fair in vista.... i just know i HATE Creative's lineup and there piss poor drivers and support.
