Gaming Headset...Suggestions?

I am currently using a Plantronics GameCom Pro1 USB headset, however this is not working in Vista x64 as the mic crackles over Ventrilo, and thats not acceptable, and I just bought an Auzen X-Fi Prelude and decided to go with analog type headset to use with the prelude.

I am currently looking at either Sennheiser's PC155 or PC166 headset. I couldnt find any distinct differences in these, is there?

That or some other recommendations for the best gaming headset available right now would be appreciated. Thanks in advance

skinnie is on a distinguished road

I believe this is the best gaming headset you can get:

The ultimate gaming headset? (Beyerdynamic DT 770 microphone mod) - Head-Fi: Covering Headphones, Earphones and Portable Audio
Beyerdynamic DT 770 microphone mod v 2.0 (updated) - Head-Fi: Covering Headphones, Earphones and Portable Audio

or maybe

Sennheiser Worldwide: HMEC 25-CAP - Pilot Headset - Communication System - Active Noise Cancellation / Aircraft - Material Equipment

I actually ended up buying Sennheiser PC166 headset, it got here today. I am quite impressed with it.

DT-770 mod? that's pretty cool

i like the sound of the 770s, but you'd want to chuck a better mic on

This would be my perfect headset , I already have the headphone part, excellent sound

EDIT: didn't see the second link the HMEC 25 cans - I've used those too, but the impedence is too high for computers/general amps (designed for aviation) so it will really affect the low-end frequency response, the HMD 25s i linked to will sound more natural
