rolleyes Audigy - sound is cracking via wavemapper but ok over directsound

For a few days I'm experiencing a strange behaviour of my sb audigy.

Sound which is played via the wave soundmapper is heavily distorted with cracks. I first noticed it while playing flash-videos from websites. Then I changed the output way in winamp from directsound to wave and it's the same. Sound in games over directsound is also fine.

What could be the cause for this?

Apparently, I'm getting the same problem/error that you mentioned. I've tried different drivers for this Audigy 1 installed in XP Pro SP2 and same thing happens with each one of them.

If anyone has a suggestion, fix, or whatever, please let us know.

Thanks.
