??? Question about xfi cards

I'm thinking getting the xfi music one that around 47 bucks replace my audigy 2 card because line in getting worn out after 4 years. It have three jack plugs from my 5.1 speaker hook up to my audigy 2 card right now. I don't have a ditigal speaker I have Logitech z640 speaker 5.1 set. I need xfi card that can support those speakers I'm thinking buying it around after christmas because they go on sale about that time lol.

I have the original X-Fi Xtream Music card & it has the Pink, black & green jacks on it. I'm using Logitech X530 5.1 speakers with it. Your speakers will work with the X-Fi card.

I read somewhere that the latest X-Fi cards support the intel onboard sound thingy so you can plug the front audio ports into the card so no need to fumble round the rear when you want to plug you mic in. Wish the old ones supported that feature.

All X-Fi's (and any other sound card) will support the 3 jack plugs, so that's not an issue.

Avoid the X-fi XtremeAudio, it's nothing more than a rebadged AudigySE.

You should look for either the X-Fi XtremeMusic, or the XtremeGamer. They're essentially identical, except the former has coaxial digital out, whereas the latter has optical digital out (neither of which will matter to you).

X-Fi Prelude is the best one of course :P

imo the XtremeMusic/XtremeGamer is the best bang-for-buck though. Depends how much your willing to spend. I'd say the extra for the Prelude is not worth it unless you have proper audiophile speakers.

As long as you don't plan on going Vista or XP 64 bit. Seems that TB deems 64 bit a waste of time.

I'm planing staying way from Vista and 64bit system anyway. I found TB 7.1 at buy site one for 35 bucks after 10 bucks OFF for new sign ups hehhe I can't run xfi gamer becuase it doesn't have all 3 jacks for my speakers only it has Ditigal out put to it next one I have go xfi gamer pro that has all the jacks but cost at 130 bucks that way to much for me as replace sound card. I'm not plaing upgrade to next fall anyway.

I'm not sure why you think that tbh because it's not true, there's not a sound card in the world still being made that doesn't provide the '3 jack' method for surround sound. In fact, have of the features of the X-Fi (CMSS, EAX, Crystaliser) *only* work over that connection.

That says 'line out' - they *are* the ports that topic starter is wanting! The ports it lacks are the line in, because the flexijack port doubles up as a line-in socket.
