My Auzentech Prelude isn't recognized by Windows XP
Tried switching PCI ports, no luck.
Tried reinstalling drivers, no luck there either. I just got this card, and I can't even get it to work, funny how you spend 200 bucks to get a card that doesn't work. :| Anyone else have the same problem? |

No, it shows up under sound and video, but with an exclamation mark. If I look under options, it says the drivers cannot be initialized. I've tried reinstalling drivers few more times, using driver cleaner in failsafe mode to remove any old creative sound drivers. It's driving me crazy

Also noticed a strange thing when installing the drivers, at 63% the warning msg from windows pops up saying its not a licensed driver bla bla, and then the installer seems to quit responding for a while, until it suddenly just finishes in an instant.

Have you uninstalled the old audio and then if it is an onboard chip turned it off in the bios?

You might wanted to formated I know I did some reason kx drivers show up from my old audigy 2 card when I put my xfi sound card in. Reason why I formated because Cyberlinkpower dvd siad I had KX drivers as my audio soruce instead of my xfi xtream music card for audio once I formated everthing awesome now. I think you try formated with your new card in your system. Um Does anyone know that the new card work with vista currect drivers under that card? If does Maybe someone can send me there ID I reload into setup profile for xfi drivers for xp next time Please let me know?

a long delay like that usually occurs when you have more than one soundcard, as windows wasnt exactly designed to use multiple cards, though it only every happened to me when i was trying to install a 3rd or 4th card

I found High Definition Audio Driver Package - KB888111 installed on my system, would this be the thing thats screwing it up? When I tried uninstalling it, it listed several hotfixes and such that "might" stop working if its uninstalled.
Reinstalled drivers once again, the ones found on the auzentech website, this time windows didnt even recognize what card it was, until I installed the drivers again through the device manager. Weird stuff. Same problem again though, couldnt initialize the driver. Last edited by RyuujinZ; Nov 28, 2007 at 08:04 PM. |

It's the time bug if you're getting code 37.

Yeah, there is that "time-bug" where the card doesn't respond after a certain amount of time and nothing you do can fix it..until you install the patch and it just start working again. Good luck.

Try installing the latest drivers from Auzentech's website (or it might be a patch, actually). The "time bug" has been fixed in it, which might solve the problem for you.

I did install the patch, and its working now - except I get the exact same squeel of death I got with my Creative X-Fi XtremeMusic
So I guess thats 200 bucks down the drain.
