planning on getting new set of speakers

hey guys, well my cousin wants to buy my current z5300e speakers so im here wondering what i should get.....

well im wondering what is the best set to buy....

im looking at the Creative S750s but i see quality control issues.

next are the z5500s but i dunno how good they are....

i want a system that i can turn to full 100% and not hear any static pops.....

so whats out there that can blow the shit out of my ass? (i want something powerful enough to blow up my windows if i want to and not get in trouble

)

personally... i love the logitech 5500's... and so do all the customers i've sold them to..

i haven't touched a creative system for ages.... one reason being they simply aren't really available here at all...

If you liked the 5300's.... the 5500's are a very VERY noticeable jump up..... specially if your using for home theater sound.....

yup that was what my 5300s were used for usually....

so 5500s it is! pretty easy to get too!

very cheap... very powerful..

just make sure you hold onto a receipt... if your going to have issues, you'll likely have them RIGHT away.....

i've moved nearly 8 5500's...... one of which died within the month..... just a bad one...

yea... theyre good but too weak for me, im already used to my z5300e's at max!,

i guess if no one has other suggestions, its 5500 for me!

Ya I would get them I want them too. But there like 150 bucks way to much for my taste lol Plus I have small room. If I have big room then I would get them. 90watts it's just perfect for my small room. In fact if I have all way up plus the bass it shakes the desk really bad lol must be my floor causing that. i think he has an audigy live so an upgrade to X-fi is probably night and day for him

I hate to say it but there isn't any real quality computers out there to my liking. Good thing I went school for electronics, hopefully I can keep my Klipsch's alive forever.

remember people..

wattage = quality..... while it may be true that there is such things as to much wattage for the room (never taking full advantage of it... overdrive)

typically even a 12x12 room, 1000-2000 watts is about where the limits are and anything more is pure overkill..

The nice thing about wattage is the fact that at lower volumes, the clarity is much better. Wattage increases overall range.... course quality speakers that match it are nessary.... but even horrible speakers will tend to sound better with higher quality wattage.

Wattage doesn't mean volume.... it's quality and clarity...

Nothing like being able to fully distinguish the sizzling crisp sound of violins and the chimes of bells or a nice crisp crack of the cymbals...

And at low volumes..

Actually you know your hearing damn good quality when even turning up the volume doesn't really "sound" that loud until you try and speak to someone....

Where as lower wattage system tend to make things more uncomfortable at higher volumes.

so true.....

my z5300s are so uncomfortable at 100% so much shreikish sound, i gotta turn it down to 85-90% to get nice audio.....

bass is a little to low for me too....

before it was VERY uncomfortable, then i bought a belkin home theater surge protector... sounds better but not quite there....

also if i blast it too much my room smells like burning electronics because the sub speaker gets too hot.... no damage though yet

these z5500s are going to be the answer to it all man.... looks sexy too

usually any system @ 100% never sounds good.. things start to distort and fall appart at the 75-80% lvl...

But reguardless... the 5300e's.. even at a higher volume.... shouldn't do that....

i dunno....ive always run it like that, for hours with no effect on them, they dont get to burning temps..... they probably get 70c inside the subwoofer max the magnet on the speaker traps heat like dayum, rest of it is pretty cool

ive ran it on hours on end and it never gave out......

yeah know.. the x-530/x-540's are excellent little speakers.. for a good dollar.... although not anywhere compared to that of the 5300e... they do a damn good job...

yea those speakers are pretty good, saw them in a frys or circuit city

cheap but powerful. i still think the z5300 and z5500s are the best bang for buck though......

alot of the speakers are "discontinued"

z-5450's for example are hard to find..

and i had sent logitech an email and they wouldn't discuss the 7.1 sets....

it only makes sense..

it's been rumorred that either they'll stick with te Z-xxxx series naming scheme for the higher end models.... or being out an entirely new name altogether....

The digital series is rumored to have compliancy for TrueHD dolgy digital and DTS decoding @ 192khz/24bit audio... the highest model of which is also saposed to pack 1200 watts of peak power, not to mention additional audio input ports... including HDMI for direct digital audio from other sources....

But it's all rumor.. and you can't find crap all on it anywhere that would even remotely come close to even being unofficial.

i find that hard to believe when Dolby Digital is a compressed 16/48 and DTS is the same (i think)

that 24/192 rating is most likely for pure spdif
