XP PRO x64 Tosiba sound drivers U205

Hi, my name is Zack, and I'm new here. Looks like this is a pretty cool forum!

anyways,

I just loaded Windows XP Pro x64 on my Toshiba Satellite u205-5044
It has the ADI HD Audio devices, specs can be found here Toshiba Support -

I have tried the xp sp2 drivers and the vista drivers and neither work.

First up, welcome to the forums.

If you haven't done so already, you will first need to download, and install Microsofts UAA driver that will help Windows detect the sound card (this is the replacement for WDM drivers). You can get that file HERE.

Next up, I don't think Toshiba has x64 drivers for that particular card, however other manufacturers, such as IBM, Dell, and HP all have one. My advice would be to try one of theirs.

For IBM/Lenovo driver, try HERE.

Of note: If this is the first time you installed the UAA driver you may notice that both the sound card and the modem will pop up asking for drivers.
