delay when decoding dolby from my xbox360 on audigy
Hi all...
I have a problem, i connected my xbox360 coaxial output to the audigy 2 spdif in (using the mod from this forum). its works great with 5.1 channel but after 10 min its gets a delay from the game. so i need to eject and reinsert the cable so its sync again. how can I fix this delay?

the delay is probably caused by the drivers decoding the stream. from memory, i believe the entire decoding process is done via software, rather than hardware, so the delay is probably caused by creative's bloat
if you get the chance, try using a program called ac3filter - it may be more efficient than the CL method

you'll need to read the documentation that comes with AC3filter for the steps

I tried allready... but I didnt manage to connect the input to the ac3filter.
In a matter of fact I cant find a way to control the input of the spdif in the audigy! no any control of it in the "control panel" so I cant even change the volume of the input. so how I'm going to connect it to the program? |

there should be an AC3/dolby digital/spdif passthrough option in the CP somewhere - I don't use CL drivers so I can't be any more specific than that sorry

well there is on the SPDIF I/O tab the option to set the spdif input to "spdif bypass" is this the one?
I also tried to use your drivers to decode or use the ac3filter with them but I didnt got any sound from the spdif to work... un like the creative driver which gave me at least the sound iwth the delay. an explenation to use the spdif in in any drivers with the audigy will come welcome

A little update on the subject.
I managed to connect with the graphedit program the audigy out to the ac3filter but send only PCM data in stereo, but no sucess in decoding it, only noise coming from the speakers. |

Hi, I have the exact same problem than you with my audigy, and I need to know where I can find a tutorial to set up graphedit and an ac3 filter with my audigy.
BTW ravid, maybe the ac3 filter of the ffdshow audio decoder would work better ? Last edited by jpnn80; Jan 28, 2008 at 12:20 AM. |
