Multimedia PC, duel sound option.
First time here.. Sorry if someone has asked this before!
I’m making a multimedia PC but want to be able to direct two separate sound streams. My system will have two monitors and I’d like it to have the ability to play a different film on each screen. Or play a film on one and listening to music. I want separate speaker and headphone abilities for both outputs. I’m assuming I’ll need two sound cards. But how do I direct the sound to the desired card? Is there an alternative to media player that will let you specify the output device? Is there any reason that I need specific sound cards to do this? Rather than picking one that I thinks ok! Thanx |

both windows media player and media player classic allow you to choose which soundcard it uses for output, though wmp's option is hidden away slightly, it's under (from memory) tools - options - devices - speakers
you'll then be able to choose which device to use media player classic is a little more straight forward as for picking a special soundcard? that's not really necessary, just as long as it works fine within windows
