Auzentech Prelude X-Fi 7.1 and front panel

Okay, so I get paid Tuesday and IU'm ordering the Auzentech Prelude and Logitech X540 speaker as upgrades. The on-board isn't bad but not great.

So I was wondering if I disable the Realtek on-board sound will I still be able to use the front panel headphones on the front of my case.

I am a bit of an insomniac and sometimes wake at 0300hrs and may do some work or play some games. I don't want to be waking everyone playing games through the speakers and need the headphones. I have the CoolerMaster Cosmos case which is placed on the floor next to my desk and the front panel is on the top of the case. The headphone cables won't be long enough to attach to the sound card output round the back of the case unless I am sitting on the floor too lol

Yes, the card on a front port connection. BTW, it rather loud so be careful.

Or you can use the headphone jack on the speakers.

Necrosis: How is the X-Fi Prelude? I ordered one but had to send it back due to no sound output in the right channel.

To be honest it is one of the best sound cards I've ever owned. I owned quite a few so that says a lot. The only way it could be better is 1. PCI-E, 2. Didn't require Creative drivers.
