Note: that drawing is ONLY for the MIDI PORTS on SB 'Live Drive' ('SMALL MIDI' connector 'to front panel of Soundblaster card' - is the confirmation)
So, if you have a SBLive or audigy (Probably referred to as a 'platinum' editin version of your SBLive or Audigy1/2 card) then - yes, it is correct. I just did a continuity test with a midi cable & adaptor I have handy to check it. Keep in mind - it is to make a complete cable - from livedrive to midi device - as opposed to making an 'adaptor' (small male MIDI to large FEMALE MIDI connector). And the drawings show the view as you see the connectecors when solding wires to the connector - as opposed of a view from the receiving female jack... hope that makes sense... This is likely a source of confusion if your attempts have failed in making this cable. |

#1 - 3 - YES - that cable would work for me.
#4 - I can not confirm if that connector on that 'daughter' card is the same pin out as the live drives - but, because it looks identical - and makes sense from a manufacturing point (only one MIDI Small>large adapter for multiple products) - then it would also likely work with #4... Maybe if you state your desired midi device to use - I can be of further assistance... eg. Some 'MIDI' pedal boards (aimed at guitarists/guitar effects rack units) can be powered via a 'special' midi cable between the foot /pedal board and the actual device - well, not in this case, you would need to use the devices own power supply to connect that pedal board to SBLive/Audigy MIDI IN. Just note - my test above was using the Small > Large MIDI adaptor that cam with my A2ZS Plat. 'Live Drive 2'. Theres a *small* chance LD1 are different, but not likely, erm, at least I have never seen it reported as different. |

I'm going to plan to use MIDI cable from Audigy2 FrontPanel to Sound Module (Sound_canvas_SC88pro),
like this Up2Box.com (Powered By Up2box) and I have more question ,Could we modify Live Drive1/2 to connect to Audigy2/2zs Card? Thank you. |

AFAIK - a Livedrive 2 would plug right into an A2ZS (non - platinum) - that is.. as long as the connectors exist on the A2ZS card. I have seen lots of SBLive *with and without* these 'EXTENSION' connectors. But I am far from expert on that. Tho, I *thought* live drive 1 was for SBLives - and LD2 was for AUDIGY's ... ?? I could be wrong tho. Last edited by Maddogg6; Jan 26, 2008 at 05:55 AM. |

Livedrive 1/2/IR/Audigy Drive will work on the Live & Audigy Series
CL Changed the Audigy 2 to allow for 96khz signals, so while you might be able to hack up your own cable to get the midi and digital IO working, the analogue IO (headphones/line2/aux2) will just be noise - this was posted in the AD_EXT Pinout thread
