Default Post [How-To] Use an Audigy 2 ZS with the latest X-Fi Beta drivers

Hi there!
Since I did not really want to use modded drivers, and the original drivers are completely bloated, I figured out a way to use Creative's latest beta drivers, that were originally designed for the X-Fi series.
As it seems, Creative left everything in the package needed for older sound cards.
The following how-to may work for every card referenced in the inf-files:
Quote:
EMU10K1 chip (SBLive!, APS)
Audigy, Audigy 2
Audigy 2 SA
Audigy 4 PCMCIA
Audigy 4 PCMCIA
E-DSP
E-DSP PCMCIA
XFi
With some luck, they will even work for x64 (INF files support x64, a 64bit version of CtPanel.exe is also present). Creative wrote that they fixed the 4GB RAM issue (Too late for me, as I am back to x86 for now).

Now, here are the steps:
1. Download the "SBXF_PCDVRBETA_LB_2_14_0001.exe" driver package from Creative's Website. (Direct Link: http://ccftp.creative.com/manualdn/D..._2_14_0001.exe )
2. Unpack the exe with your favorite archiving tool. I used 7-Zip.
3. Install the driver with "\Drivers\Setup.exe" (path relative to extracted files)
4. Reboot
5. Configure your basic sound settings with the Windows Sound Settings
("Digital Output Only" is enabled by default, remember to DISABLE it when using analog speaker connection)
6. Configure advanced sound settings with "\Drivers\wdm\common\i386\CtPanel.exe" (For x64: Mind the "\Drivers\wdm\common\amd64\CtPanel.exe")
7. Done, you didn't have to mess around with any bloatware

What works for me:
- Windows XP Home SP2, 4GB RAM, Core 2 Duo, Auidgy 2 ZS
- 5.1 surround sound
- Setting the LFE crossover frequency (so my subwoofer works)
- Configure CMSS 3D (Off, CMSS1/2, Stereo Surround)
- Enabling EAX Effects
- OpenAL without any additional steps

What does not work:
- Equalizer; Workaround: use equalizer from EAX Effects

How YOU can help:
- Try this out for your Creative card and 32/64bit Windows and tell us if it worked.

Thanks for the info...

I was trying to find older audigy 2 ZS drivers, back them i was able to use LFE crossover, but up to date drivers with Audio Console ripped that off...

I will try this xfi drivers, i'l post if it works.

Edit: Well, works, but Bass Redirection still doesnt...
