audigy(original) platinum i/o box used with audigy 2

i have an audigy2zs card in my computer and i now have a break out i/o box from and original audigy platinum card. the original audigy card no longer works so ive been looking around on the site. seen this mentioned but nobody really said if it would work.

any help is greatly appreciated. i just want to play my guitar with sound again after my amp died.
