Problem with You-pax Drivers and X-Fi Extrem Music

I'm currently trying to connect my Xbox360 (GTA 4 preparations anyone ? ) to my X-Fi Extreme Music and would like to have DD/DTS Sound with the Digital I/O Module. This is one of the very first X-Fi Cards and it was Retail in a Box.

Now I can't install the you-pax drivers from today. With the setup does the killapps process hang/crash (Bla bla process has to be closed) and when I try to install the driver manually then it says "Installing driver..." and fails with "file not found" error.

Hardware ID:
PCI\VEN_1102&DEV_0005&SUBSYS_00211102&REV_00
PCI\VEN_1102&DEV_0005&SUBSYS_00211102
PCI\VEN_1102&DEV_0005&CC_040100
PCI\VEN_1102&DEV_0005&CC_0401

Vista x64 SP1
4 GB RAM

Bytheway the registration email from the youpax forum never arrived :'(

I managed to install just the drivers from daniel_k but the setup program said "no supported hardware found" even after cleaning the drivers. But after the reboot the sound was kinda crippled... and there was no more CMSS3D. (I use this to do the Upmix to 5.1 of my MP3's)

I just read the SPDIF Thread and now I'm questioning if my solution will work anyhow.

I would like to take the 5.1 DD from my XBox360 by Optical Toslink to the Digital I/O Module which is connected to my Creative X-Fi Extreme Music's SPDIF IN. It works already when I choose Digital Stereo, because it's 2 channel PCM. But then there's the question if the XBox 360 does AC3 Compression for 5.1 DD Sound. I would be glad to see a response on this question.

Would that mean, that my setting should work ? Is the Digital I/O Module Capable to get DD over Toslink SPDIF IN to the X-Fi ?

I reverted again to the official Drivers which work as they should for windows... except of DD/DTS

I did the trick with the Dell drivers, but CMSS-3D is not working anymore
And I can't change the Setting for SPDIF-Input but the Recorder tab is now available...

I've still got "Unknown or invalid format" when I set my Xbox 360 to "Dolby Digital" instead of "Digital Stereo"

Can anyone please confirm even if it should work if the right drivers are out or not... otherwise I'm going to buy a Logitech Z-5500 Speaker set...
I searched a lot around the web now and I didn't found anywhere anything about X-Fi Extreme Music and XBox 360 with 5.1 Sound... or atleast no one which got it to work

Heh, looks like we're stuck in a similar situation. With the growing amount of people using such a setup, you'd think some company out there would release a solution.

Anyways, from what I've read, that Dell driver should work fine, but I don't know what will happen in your particular case.

Either way, the Audio Console will never say Dolby or DTS, just Unknown or Invalid Format but the sound will still be heard.

I'm trying to install my old A2ZSPP with my new Auzen X-Fi to get DD/DTS but so far, the external I/O box is not even turning on so I'm about to remove the drivers and clean them out (didn't do that last time >_< ).

Otherwise, my final solution will be to get the Z-5500 just like you (shame, because I like my Z-5300).

I myself am trying to get this all done before GTA4 comes out!

I really hope you get your stuff sorted out, man. I know what a royal pain in the ass it is. We, as paying customers, shouldn't get ripped off like this. If the A2ZS could do it, I see no reason why the X-Fi shouldn't. Shame then that Creative got so stingy by not paying for licenses. Asswipes.
