I want to use my bluetooth headset with Windows. Need support!

Hi!

I have an old D-Link adapter in one of my usb slots and I want it to be able to identify my bluetooth Jabra headset.

If I succeed I will be able to use Jabra with Skype and other programs, I hope.

All the drivers and stuff which came from the original CD from D-Link has been installed a few months ago but isn't able to identify my Jabra and I need your support. Thanks!

Did D-Link provide any new drivers? I have one first gen dongles in here and it uses the generic MS driver just fine.

And how have you been able to do that?

Perhaps there is a bluetooth package from Microsoft which needs to get installed?? Hmm..

In XP it came with SP2 so if you don't have XP with SP2 or SP3 then you should update. Unless you are using w2k ... And Vista has it built in too

Service Pack 2 is installed.

The D-Link adapter has been able to identify other hardware like mobile phones(so it works) but not the Jabra headset.

So is the headset working on other PC's via BT? XP should be able automatically install the drivers.

I don't know if it works on other pc's, but if they have a better bluetooth dongle it might..

I updated one of the bluetooth drivers, but it still won't recognize anything.

your bluetooth adaptor may not support the profile(s) required for using a bluetooth headset

iirc windows will only see a headset if both the headset AND the bluetooth adaptor support A2DP (stereo bluetooth) - I don't think normal headsets are compatible with windows, but i may be wrong
