Sound DRIVER needed.

EVEREST :
Audio Adapter Realtek ALC862 @ nVIDIA MCP61 - High Definition Audio Controller

And I just can't find drivers for it...
Right click on the name I can choose download drivers and it pushes me to page : Realtek
Emm... witch one of it is right ? Anyway if I choose one and click GO on the downloading site, it doesn't do anything... nothing happens... Like the button is broken... I didn't managed to find anything right by googleing also :'(.

So can I have some help with driver downloading ?

EDIT : I found CD witch came with my comp, there r all the drivers. But if I want ot install audio drivers it tell something that "microsoft Bus drivers should be installed first". Then I saw the is also all in 1 driver insallation where was some SM BUS driver also. But is it safe to overinstall all drivers :S ? What should I do ?

Hi there and welcome to DriverHeaven!

The driver is the HD driver. If my memory serves me right that is one of the early HD chips from realtek.

I assume you are using XP? And get the newest chipset drivers for your mobo from nvidia since it sounds to me that it has nvidia's chipset. But more info about your computer would be helpful in order to troubleshoot your problem

Hmm... Asrock tells me that you got the realtek HD codec and since you got XP SP3 installed you should have the UAA patch installed. And do run windows update on your computer to make sure that it's fully updated. But do not install any drivers through it!

BTW. You have chipset drivers installed? For that nForce chipset?? Get them here : ASRock Motherboard - Product - K8NF6G-VSTA - Download From

How can I find out do I have those installed or not ?
I download Driver Updater Pro (unfortunately it's free version and can't use the ability to *OWNLOAD DRIVER UPDATE*:S) it shows I have 3 drivers out of date :

NVIDIA MCP61 Serial ATA Controller (under tab IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers)
NVIDIA Network Bus Enumerator (under tab NVIDIA Network Bus Enumerator)
NVIDIA nForce PCI System Management (under tab System devices)
... any1 of those chipset driver ?

BTW when I removed the last driver I unistalled from add/remove progrmas some file "audio driver .. K... numbers(i think they were 88811)... " and then uninstalled driver.
So Fixing the "Microsoft Bus Driver" error message when installing a RealTek sound card from there I need that, but there is no download for SP3 :S, only for SP1, SP2 and SP4...

Download the driver from the link I provided on my previous post to install newer chipset drivers. When you have SP3 installed you don't need the kb888111 to be installed. And I recomend not to use software like Driver Updater since some of them might have some malicious features built in to them.

Anyway here are the all drivers you can get from Asrock for your motherboard : ASRock Motherboard - Product - K8NF6G-VSTA - Download

So I downloaded, extracted the file. First installed only the SMBus driver from the list, but still after reboot trying to install audio drivers it tell same thing "microsoft bus drivers should be loaded first... ". So I have to install all the drivers over there ? What if I have some of them installed allreayd and now overinstall them ? Doesn't it have bad effects ?

EDIT: Well I install it anyway , but still same error when installing sound driver from CD :S.

That bus driver is the UAA (Universal Audio Architecture) driver that should be included in SP3 for Windows XP.

btw. do install all the other drivers for the list of motherboard chipset drivers...

Well I did, still the same error comes when installing sound driver from the CD ... :'(

Have no idea what to do next ...

Maybe there is posssibility to uninstall all the drivers? Or I have to do it manually 1 by 1? There is a program Driver Cleaner, maybe by using this I should uninstall all the drivers and start over again?

EDIT : But I don't really know how to use it . Under cleaning section it shows huge line of drivers, should I clean them all :S?
WHat is Cab Cleaner? UNder this section is Driver.cab, sp1.cab, sp2.cab, sp3.cab? SHould I clean those ?

select realtek and from the cab cleaner sp3.cab if you have Service Pack 3 installed.

[EDIT] Make sure that you have removed the drivers from the Add/remove programs menu before using Driver Cleaner...

Realtek removed from Add/Remove Programs.
Realtek Audio cleaned.
Realtek HDMI Audi cleaned.

But what does the cap cleaner SP3.cab cleaning do? Cleanes all the drivers in the compure? Or cleanses all the drivers what come with SP3? Before doing SP3.cab, I have to uninstall something from the Add/Remove section also?

it will clean the SP3.cab file from drivers and you don't have to do that.

WHat means uninstalls sp3?
What does driver.cab ?
The whole list drivers in the DC programm are all the drivers I have in my computer? To uninstall all drivers I have to select all of them and clean ?

driver.cab is cabinet file for drivers, windows stores some drivers in that file.
The list is just a list of driver filters that can be used for cleaning drivers in DC. That don't mean that you have all of them installed!

What if I did the sp3.cab clean xD? What happened, got broken?
But maybe I should act like thata :
1. UNinstall SP3 from add/remove programs.
2. Download that thing from there : Fixing the "Microsoft Bus Driver" error message when installing a RealTek sound card .
3. ANd install the driver, atleast it should let then.
4. Make windows update to get SP3 back.

If I uninstall SP3 , then I have Sp2 or nothing ?

Yay got my sounds pack ! !! CHEER !

But now again SVCHOST IS FKCING KILLING MY COMP !!! :@
This was the reason I unistalled sound drivers... svchost.exe is taking like 70,000K-150,000K memory 24/7... CPU usage is basicly always 100%. Especially when I turn my comp on. I have all the windows updates done, BitDefender as antivirus, no bad things found by ad-aware, spybot s&d, regcure. I was told to scan for sasser, blast or welch virus but none found with the special symantic programs. It actually disapeared after sound driver uninstall, but now when sounds back, the huge lag is back too...
I don't have much programs running. ONly 6 icon in tray. When I disable the svchost.exe i loose sounds and theme.

Maybe ppl in this forum have any idea how can this be fixed ?

Re: Sound DRIVER needed.

Hey, I just signed up to tell you that this thread helped me out immensely. I had slip-streamed SP3 and my sound wouldn't work after doing all the windows updates. Dudezor's advice about installing KB835221.exe (QFE to fix the "Microsoft Bus" error message) worked perfectly and my sound instantly started working. If you got a MCP61 Nvidia Sound chipset, with Realtek audio codecs ALC888, install KB835221 and then install your usual Realteak audio driver and it should work. Awesome. Saved me many hours of frustration.
