Creative X-fi soundcard question
So basically a friend and I are going to start using my computer for some audio/DJing recording on the side. My soundcard has a MIDI header on it (a set of pins sticking off of it that takes a plug) on the inside right next to the FP audio header. So to the question. Is there a MIDI plug/passthrough that I can plug into that?

you can get a gameport bracket (used to come with some soundcards and motherboards) connect that straight in, and use a gameport to midi adaptor, or if you're a DIY sort of person, follow the info here: http://www.electricstart.de/pic/midiint.gif

cool thanks!
I think what i may attempt to do is fashion a cable (thanks to your link of that pin-out) That will allow me to plug in one end to the MIDI header on the soundcard and the other end will be a MIDI connector that I can run through a pass-through on the back of my case

You can also enable your onboard Midi port also. Can be useful when you don't have a port on your card. Come Motherboards allow you to enable the midi port without enabling the entire onboard sound chip. Good Luck.
