Asus Striker (Formula) SupremeFXII problem

Hello people,

I hope you can help me out here

I recently bought a Asus Striker II Formula mobo and with that, I received a soundcard Called Supreme FX II.

I have a windows XP prof (SP3) installed and tried to install the audio drivers from the DVD-rom of the mobo.

Under any circumstance it won't install because the application can't find 'HDA AUDIO bus driver is required and not found'.

My device manager reconize a PCI device (sound card) and says there a no drivers. I have tried to install the drivers from there, but I get no results, the wizard breaks of, because it can't find no drivers a all, even when I search the DVD from my mobo.

I have searched for an solution and found several options.

- I dl'ed a .zip file (wdm_R198.zip) from the realtek site and installed it, but the application of my sound device still can't find the HDA audio bus driver.

- I found a solution where I need to adjust some things in my registry, but I want to do that as a last resource, so therefore I place my question on this forum.

Can you help me out here?

Thank you all!

Kind regards,

Smeerworst

System Specs

well..i've got the same card, but vista x64...i had similar problems

try downloading drivers from asus support site, extract them and then install it manually from folder (run setup.exe not asussetup).

also check if you have update for winXP hd audio (not sure if it comes with sp3).
