No Surround Sound in Vista

I recently upgraded from XP to Vista Ultimate 64bit, and I only get 2.1ch sound output in my games & music.
If I do the sound test in vista, all the speakers work. I have changed all settings to 5.1ch.
If I play music through Power DVD I get sound from all the speakers, but not from Winamp & Media Player.
I have the latest drivers (v2.23) for my Razer AC-1 Sound Card. I am using Creative Inspire T6060 5.1ch speakers.

Any help will be much appreciated!

System Specs

Hi there and welcome to DriverHeaven!

From Razer's support site :

Problem
While using 5.1 settings in Vista, the sound output is only in a 2.1 format. What happened?

Solution

Ensure that the 'Surround/Back Surround Output Swap' box is UNchecked in the 7.1 section of the AC-1 software, and as the setting is carried over when using other settings.
While using 5.1 settings in Vista, the sound output is only in a 2.1 format. What happened?

I don't personally have the audio card in question so I really can't tell will it work.

Hi temeteus82, thanks for the reply. Unfortunately I tried that already with no success.

Any other suggestions?

how are you connected to the speakers? spdif or through analog connection?

i had problems with winamp too...check in the settings (i think it's under playback section) if you have checked surround sound? althou i don't think that winamp converts stereo signal into 5.1. correct me if i'm wrong...
