Audigy2 .383 on SBLive!
Okay, I have a SBLive! X-Gamer (non-5.1) and I used the instructions here to install the Audigy2 drivers and apps and then update them to the latest official versions (.383 is what Windows reports). Sound seems to work fine, including EAX. I have the EAX and Speaker Settings consoles installed, along with pretty much everything else except for DVD and MediaSource related stuff, but the EAX and Speaker consoles crash when I try to run them
I can get to an old-style EAX utility via AudioHQ, and I can pan the speakers around (I use 4-speaker analog mode) in Surround Mixer, so I guess I've got as much functionality as I had with the SBLive! drivers. Kind of sucks that I don't get anything extra out of it though, except for using Creative's latest driver code.I also think it's interesting that the Windows device manager reports my card as a "Creative SB Live! Value" instead of a Live, Live X-Gamer, or Audigy 2. But it's reporting a .383 driver version and Surround Mixer works (as well as some of the other utilities) so it must be using the Audigy2 drivers. The Diagnostics utility also crashes when I hit the Start Tests button. |

the same happened here with a LIVE! 1024. Seems OK.
