Ruzarik is on a distinguished road

No sound, whatever I do.

Ok, Hello DriverHeaven, I have used some of your Nvidia drivers before, and worked great, so I knew I could ask you guys this and have some sort of luck.

I have just installed a "copy" of Win XP Pro and placed in the mobo driver CD... ran some stuff and when I got to the SoundMAX drivers it didn't install anything, it told me I needed HDA Audio bus driver. So I google it, and install like 30 different versions of the same thing, for SP2 (which I think I have, I tried SP1 and windows told me my SP was too new for it, tried SP2 and it worked... I guess I have that one). It says it is installed but nothing happens when I try to install the SoundMAX drivers on the mobo CD... still tells me I need the HDA Audio Bus driver.

Any idea? Should I reinstall another version of windows? (Which I would hate to do right now)

try installing SP3 -iirc, the required High Def layer is installed as part of that, then install your soundcard drivers on top of that
