Audigy 2 ZS
I just installed, and tried each playback driver for my speakers, and none worked (no sound).
![]() I'm using Vista 32bit ultimate, 2gigs of ram, 8500 nvidia, asus p5gc-mx/l333 mobo, audigy 2 zs soundcard. I installed the latest version of kX project off their site, installed and restarted. |

Hi 2-D & Welcome to the world of DH!!!
Were you using on-board Realtek or another card before? Did you properly uninstall all the drivers for Realtek or previous card before installing the Audigy? Did you install all drivers for Creative? Did you set up the speakers in Vista control panel? Did you set up the speakers with Creative software? Are your speakers plugged in to both the audigy and the power socket? (stupid question I know but is a common fault believe it or not)

the speakers worked before installing kX and I havent messed with the plugs for months.
Alright, I uninstalled all of my sound drivers, and installed kX. ![]() ![]() I tried them all and they don't play any sound. I am using the soundcard, I only had the realtek driver installed because It came with the motherboards driver cd. yes, my speakers are plugged into both the computer and power outlet. I'm not sure how you would set up speakers in the control panel, when I go to sound It takes me to the sound playback devices menu in the screenshot. |

are you speakers connected to the right jack on the audigy and not the onboard sound?

Yes, I havent touched the cords since I got them, and they worked when I had the official drivers installed.

Did you properly remove all traces of the Realtek installation (ie no conflict) and any other (old) audio drivers?

I clicked each one, went to properties, properties again, driver tab, and uninstall, and uninstalled any software it came with.
I did it with every sound driver there, and then restarted, installed kX, restarted. |
