X-Fi card is killing me..

Card- SB604? X-Fi Fatality Pro, it has the fatty heatsink and red led.
i bought it on ebay from canada, only a couple provinces away..
anywho, it said guaranteed against doa, comes with just the card..

Im now trying to install it, second PCI slot in my DFI UltraD board..
im only running an 8600GTS aswell.
I have tried the latest drivers from creative... thus started in saying "my device is not seen by software" , so i took it out, and reseated and then tried, it got going and updating windows drivers, i click Continue Anyway when the popup warning comes up..Now the problems, my computer ether locks up now during the ending of this.. or next restart on the windows boot screen the blue bars keep going and going or stop...after a few trys, i get past
and i check my device manager..
Creative X-Fi Audio processor (WDM) is up there with a yellow circle.
the status says "This device cannot start. (Code 10)"
????! I have tried now, YouP-Pax 6.0 WDM driver installs, Guru3D Driver Cleaner each time!, i am now about to try out YouP-PAX-Fiv3.63.03
and see to folllow this...

well, PAXFI3.6 or whats it called... i did cab and driver clean in safemode, rebooted and started/installed PAX, near updating the files i got a blue screen bsod.. something about ht2kok file?? i restarted, and tried with the WDM setup.exe file..and got another blue screen of death... gar, im going to try 1 last time with PAX6.0 and do it all in safemode..

Are you sure that the card is working? I had similiar issues recently when dealing with a broken Audigy.

which drivers from creative did you try?

I had a same issue with an extreme music x-fi card. (BSOD if drivers install or drivers didn't install at all). It's a hardware issue..!

Please send back the card at your earliest !
