AUDIGY 2 ZS Which Creative driver?
Hi.
I hope someone can help me. I already posted in the official Creative forum but nobody is responding. I was using kX driver for my Audigy 2 ZS on Win XP SP3 but since it doesnt support EAX I want to use the official Creative drivers again. I don't know which package I should download. There is "Creative Sound Blaster Audigy series Driver" and "Creative Sound Blaster Audigy, Audigy 2 series and Audigy 4 series Driver 02.09.0016". I downloaded the first one and installed it. Sound works but I there are no applications where I can configure my soundcard. EAX Console, Mixer, etc are missing. Regards T3rm1 |

I know that couple guys here comes to suggest you to install modified drivers ... in your case, I would install from the original CD (if you don't have one, search the Creative forums using "BadBoy" .. he has it as an ISO image) then just update the latest drivers and Control panel (02.09.0016).

You can access all the drivers and applications for the Audigy2 ZS here. The options I chose for this page were for normal XP. Not 64-bit, MCE etc. They are also available if required and are accessed from the main Audigy2 ZS support page.
The Audigy2 ZS knowledgebase solution centre is here. I hope this helps you. Good luck!!

There is no driver and only Creative WaveStudio 7.10.24 software. But that's not the software I mean. I need the control panel where you can adjust all the settings. Quote:
I don't get why Creative doesn't provide the software that was on the CD. Can you tell me? I don't think I have the CD anymore. Regards T3rm1 |

That's strange. I just clicked on both of those links again and they take me to the right place. Nevermind.
If we use your link you'll see in the bottom left-hand corner you have a 'manual selection' menu. Use the drop-down menus to choose you language, OS, and type of software (drivers, application or all. Choose all). Press submit and you will get everything released by Creative for that card. Using your link again, if you see underneath the picture of the card there is a knowledge base section. Click on the link titled "View All Knowledgebased Solutions For Your Product" and you get to the relevant place.

Ah I found it. Turned out to be a cookies issue. The website requires cookies to be enabled and I have them disabled in my browser.
One last question. Why are there two version of the driver. One very old version "SBAX_WBUP2_LB_2_09_0016.exe" dated back to Oct 2006 and a new version "SBAX_PCDRV_LB_2_18_0001.exe"? I think I'm gonna install the newer one. |

It's a while since I installed the Audigy. But I think, and I just scanned the release notes, you need to install the old one first as it includes the audio console (the newer one does not). Then uninstall the driver (making sure you leave the console intact) and then install the updated newer driver. All the software applications are on that page.
Alternatively you could install just the oldest driver and applications you need and then access the 'Software Autoupdate' feature (there's a blue link twice on every page). The autoupdate feature will do everything for you once you have the basics installed. Make sure you have removed all remnants of any old drivers/apps before you begin the process though.

You get ALL SOFTWARE bundled only on Creative Audigy 2 Zs CD. Driver and software updates can be downloaded from CT support pages. I suppose you can't even install all of those software updates if you don't have original versions of software installed already. If you're too lazy to dig the BadBoys site then, here's the link : BadBoyforum Profile, BadBoyforum Details - FileFront.com jiitee |
