Pissed DD/DTS SPDIF decoding on the X-Fi Titanium series.

Here is one that bought a X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Pro hoping to use the optical in for decoding the digital output of the PS3. But I dont see the decoder tab in the Audio console What is really the use of optical in and how actually can i use it now?

I am assuming SPDIF in decode is just a driver level function like other x-fi cards.

Do we always have to resort to do install modded/hacked drivers to get normal functionality that the card can support?
Any mods available currently available?

Rob/Daniel u guys hear me?

Hi there! Sorry for the late response. What OS you are using?? If you are using Vista you should know that there has been a ton of issues with the DD/DTS decoding with Vista.

But that was with PCI cards of x-fi..

This is with the new PCI express version, X-fi tianium.. There is no support for DD/DTS decoding in XP itself on this

The decoding is done in the driver level if I'm not mistaken. I don't know about the PCI-E cards but I had driver level decoding of DD signal when I had my X-Fi extreme music PCI.

[EDIT] The signal wasn't external via SPDIF I just routed the DVD playing softwares sound to SPDIF and enabled the driver level decoding in the Audio Console..
