Creative X-FI Soundblaster Query?
This is going to sound incredibly dumb,
I'm currently running with a USB Clearchat Pro headset from Logitech. In my new PC build, if i were to get the Creative X-FI Soundblaster X-TREME Audio. Would it make any difference at all to my USB headset? Or would i need to purchase a headset to go with it, one that supports 5.1 Channel... for awesome gaming, music & movies... If i required a new headset, i'd be looking for something in the lower price range.. around $100 - $150, that has a microphone.. and that will benefit from the Sound card... I use my headset for gaming, music & movies.. something that could work accross the board would be awesome. |

when using multiple audio devices for everything, things get confusing... Vista makes it a little easier to manage... but xp is still a bit of a pain.
Either way, You should still be able to plug in your usb headset and do what you will (provideing that you set it as the primary recording/sound device). However i personally would suggest not bothering with the creative card you've mentioned. It's more hassle and problematic then it's worth. Could you give a detailed list of what you plan on using in your new pc build?

getting another soundcard will make zero difference with your headset, as being USB device, is it's own soundcard/interface

it probably will give you better quality on the output (headphones) but i wouldn't expect much difference with the microphone
