Avance AC 97 Audio Drivers?

I've just had my PC upgraded and I've had a new motherboard fitted among other things. It's a Gigabyte GA-7VA board with on board sound chip Avance AC 97 Audio for VIA. problem is I'm now getting some bad sound problems in my games, namely MoH and BF1942. I'm also losing sound volume for no apparent reason on my desktop. I found some drivers at a Japanese website http://www.magic-pro.com.hk/driver/mb_ENG.htm but they haven't solved the problem.

If anyone is using this sound chip could you let me know where to find some decent drivers for it.
