how to back up EQ settings in x-fi control panel
I hate tweaking my EQ again and I lose the settings if I reinstall the driver or format my comp etc. I have a setting which i want to keep how can I back this custom profile? I don't know if it saves a little file like winamp used to do (i think)

Hmm... IIRC, theres a file named something like C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Creative\CADI\Preset\PCI_BUSXXXX-X-XXXXXXXX-XXXX.dat (X's are numbers) (path name may be different for your setup) BTW, On Audigy/Live! series cards, this info can be found from registry HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Creative Tech\Component Installed\{695120D5-831C-4508-B04B-8CCE0214ED10} (CLSID number may be different) and HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-527237240-1078081533-839522115-500\Software\Creative Tech\Component Installed\{695120D5-831C-4508-B04B-8CCE0214ED10} (CLSID number and registry 'path' name may be different) and maybe from files named as C:\WINDOWS\{00000001-00000000-00000001-00001102-00000004-00531102}.CDF C:\WINDOWS\{00000001-00000000-00000001-00001102-00000004-00531102}.BAK (path and numbers may be different for your setup) jiitee Last edited by jiiteepee; Sep 28, 2008 at 07:27 AM. |

If you search using PCI_BUS*.dat ... don't you find the file? Open the command line window (start run... cmd), and give commands one by one followed by enter C: cd\ dir pci_bus*.dat /s (If your system installation isn't on C: drive then change the drive letter) jiitee Last edited by jiiteepee; Sep 28, 2008 at 07:29 AM. |
