Pissed X-Fi Xtreme Audio Problems

i have the PCI Express Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio sound card.

I've been getting crackling noise, distortion, box sounding problems.
i can't even do 24-bit sound.

it does this constantly. i have to exit and reopen a lot of programs just to get the audio working and sounding right.

does anyone know how to fix this problem?

thanks

Re: X-Fi Xtreme Audio Problems

try plugging it in to a different PCI Express slot... it might solve the problem...

i do everything with my sound. gaming, making music, listen to music, videos, chatting. just everything. and i cannot take the problems anymore. :-P

is it worth getting the Fatal1ty card? or does that also have problems as my current card?

Maybe a slight over-reaction

I think what Robert was trying to say is that the xtreme audio isn't actually a true X-Fi card and that all the work is done in software rather than hardware. You would be better off getting a different model or if you really find audio important go for something great like the Auzentech X-Fi Prelude.
