How to get Audigy1 live drive wrking w/ Audigy2 drvr??

Ok, so I following the directions from this page here

I used the audigy 2 cd file from:
http://users2.ev1.net/~dallasstar/a...l_multilang.rar

and used the patcher from:
http://members.aol.com/dvdking2001/Pub/ctcomp.exe

In the directions it says if you have an audigy platinum, to choose audigy 2 platinum during the install... The only time it asks me what device I have is if I install the online documentation. Everything else installs fine, and it all works, except for my live drive.. it's dead.. I cant' use the remote, hooking up headphones does dick.. you get the idea... so, where am I going wrong here?? is there a different download that I should be getting? a different patcher? I've tried to install MediaSource as well, but that didn't help... I did install it after all the other software, so does install order matter? Does it all need to be done at the same time??

I'm going to check the physical conneciton of the live drive now, and make sure that's not the problem, but I'm pretty sure it is not.. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hmmm... I really have no idea at the moment, but have you tried experimenting with "Evil Driver"?
Can you check if the drive works with .381 beta drivers (which offically support Audigy1 too)?
Can you also verify that it works with .253 (lastest offical Audigy1 drivers)?
