Re: X-Fi for realtek audio

the x-fi motherboard chipset REPLACES other onboard sound such as realtek or soundmax, so there won't be any x-fi drivers for existing non-x-fi onboard sound

Re: X-Fi for realtek audio

why would someone want to install those modified drivers? what benefits do you obtain?

I looked at the first post from the link and it's vague.

Re: X-Fi for realtek audio

I'm not sure what benefits I get but i installed it. ATM I can use X-Fi Software including Crystalizer, EAX Effects via Console, CMSS (which i never used actually ;-))
I wonder if this driver emulates some kind of EAX to games (Battlefield 2 for example)

I know this would be rendered through CPU but I dont mind if it would. Unfortunately Mic still isnt working for VOIP (it neither did with Realtek drivers and my good old Audigy 2.....)
I think i have to go through all the thread in techpowerup forums..

BTW: i got ALC662
