I was a happy camper last Monday, my X-Fi Titanium Fata1ity card was delivered. I get the card in and start installing the drivers from the cd that came with the card. I did not notice that I left the box checked for the Creative Media Toolbox 6, so it installed as well. Now I can't get rid of the damn thing, it won't uninstall, all I get is an error message. I've tried everything I could think of, including uninstalling everything, running Driver Sweeper, CCleaner, all of it. I had to manually delete the directory manually but cannot get rid of the entry in the "Programs and Features" in Vista. Does anyone know how this can be successfully uninstalled? It's useless, trial only and I can't get rid of it.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Edit: Well, I finally got rid of it, but it wasn't easy. I had to uninstall everything, which left only the Media Toolbox 6 in the add/remove entries. Ran CCleaner, ran the registry cleaner in it as well. Then I had to manually delete the folder it was installed in. Cleaned out every single Creative folder on my PC manually. Then I followed these "Method 3" of these instructions: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/86...all-entry.html After that was done, ran the CCleaner registry cleaner once again. It found a bunch more stuff, all related to the Media Toolbox 6, and had it dump it all. And I was finally rid of that Creative Media Toolbox 6 software install. Reinstalled just the drivers and supporting software, updated them, and it's running fast and clean now. Word to the wise, avoid Creative Media Toolbox 6 like it was the plague. Once it's on your system you'll play hell to get rid of it.
