??? Which media player do you use for MP3s etc?

Well I know we have several of these before, but its been a while so I though it would be cool to see what you guys are using?

windows media player?
winamp 2x?
winamp 3x?
sonique?
or one of the many others ?

I used to play mp3s with sonique and winamp, but ill admit in recent times ive stuck with windows media player, until a few mates on messenger, such as Dom and spike said I should give winamp 2.9 a try again. So I did and was pleasantly surprised at just how fast and good the interface was on this little player, it also had some nice skins options which I liked as im working to a theme as you can see over here.

So this is where my little adventure took a turn, having looked at some of the winamp 3 skins I decided to give it a shot. Most people say V3 is buggy and slow, but I like to try software, and I have to say, as yet I havent had a problem with V3 --- this of course might change as time progresses

Anyway I found a nice skin which fits in quite well with my theme

which while also looking effective is also pretty practical, some of those skins are pretty weird and hard to use on a day to day basis, once you get past the visual eye candy.

Getting back to my previous use of windows media player which I had used for quite a long while, I found the sound quality on winamp not quite up to par with WMP, so I did a hunt and found some audio guys mentioning the amazing sound quality and enhancements with "DFX", so I headed along to their site http://www.fxsound.com/ and installed the addon......

VERY IMPRESSIVE !!! nice sound options and it really works wonders through my PC sound setup. as you can see from the image above, you can alter, fidelity, ambience, 3d surround, dynamic boost and hyperbass.

what media player are you using for audio? id like to hear !

Well, as you know, Z, I'm currently using WinAMP 2.9x because of stablity issues with 3.

I'm using the above skin by; Imre Benedek, called Nucleo_NLog_v2G, which, for those interested, can be found here.

WinAMP is my default player for ALL audio files, always has been.

I do like Winamp but for the last couple of years have really enjoyed MusicMatch Jukebox.

You get a great variety of skins and numerous extras, radio, sound wave convertions and cd burning. I reckon i will stay with MusicMatch for the forseeable future.

I'm using the good ole Winamp 2.8. but sometimes I think about having Media Player as my default player for MP3 and Wav files.
All since I've installed Media Player 9, all my multimediaplaying have been flawless. (That is movies)
Hell...I just might try Media Player as MP3 player right now.

you should have made this a poll (with little buttons to push), i'd be interested in the results. I use WMP myself.

I'm giving Winamp 3 a go as well.
I haven't run into any problems either Zardon.

Media Player is still handy for all types of media ... as long as you have the proper codecs.

Any other music software I use is for recording ... and not really meant for MP3's.
You don't really need a multi-tracking recorder to listen to MP3's ... Although it is cool to watch the waveforms while your listening to the tune

exclamation foobar2000

fobbar2000 is the best. It may not look flashy but it does it job - playing music very well. Actually it has the best decoding quality of all. It is small and fast and light on resources. And it supports a lot of music excellent music formats like Ogg Vorbis or FLAC out of the box.

Before that I used Winamp 2.8. Never like 3, it is almost as bloated and slow as Windows Media Player which on top of that doesn't have very good decoders and in my opinion is the worst of all.

Winamp2.9x for music like mp3's
Windows Media Player for pr0n, movies, game trailers, etc.
QuickTime for movie trailers
RealPlayerOne for online streams of foreign TV

I also noticed DiVX Player 2.0 is pretty nifty, but I'll stick to WMP

Foobar2000 for me. you CANT argue... FBR2K is easily the best.

No fancy & system resources hogging GUI. its fast, its simple & yet its powerful too!

the sound coming out of it rocks!!! and who can forget the replaygain feature.. the file tagging & renaming feature is EXTREMELY useful... i wont be going back to Winamp or any other cr4p!

once you go foobar, you can't go back...
