Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Front Panel Not Working

Hello,

I recently had to reinstall all my hardware and software due to a motherboard failure.

After installing my Audigy 2 ZS Platinum I noticed that the Line In 2 option wasn't available in the windows recording options. I then found that the headphones were not working. I then found that the power cable was unplugged on the front panel so I plugged it in and hoped it would work, but still nothing. I have tried reinstalling new drivers, reinstalling old drivers, everything I can think of but can't get the computer to recognise it is there.

The red light is glowing in the Optical Out so I know it now has power but is there something I need to do to get windows to find it?

Thanks!

It should be seen automaticly if the proper drivers for the Audigy are installed with the I/O drive properly connected. The I/O is seen by windows as part of the audigy card, it's not a seperate device.

I would check all your cables and do a clean install of the proper drivers.

Re: Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Front Panel Not Working

I shall double check everything again.

Are there any special drivers that I need for the front panel? Do I just need the most up to date drivers for the soundcard?

Is there any special way of uninstalling the drivers completely so that it might recognise the front panel when I reinstall the soundcard due to having no reference from the previous installation?

Thanks!

I've never used it but "Driver Cleaner" would handle the un-install deal, many DH forum members use this with great success. I've just never owned it......

Once clean the latest drivers, or the ones that were working before would be sufficient, there are no separate drivers for the I/O.

Re: Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Front Panel Not Working

After checking the cables I found that one end of the Ribbon cable had the end cap missing so it wasn't making a good connection. I fixed this and now the sound option has recognised the front panel and it is all working.

Many thanks for your help.
