Maybe someone here can help with my SB/ Teamspeak problem...

ok, first i'll tell ya what i have as far as i know.... Sound Blaster Live 5.1. i also have the latest version of teamspeak. it used to work fine for me. i have and always have had a realyl cheap mic but it has always worked fine.

ok, so i start up teamspeak, get into a server, and i can hear everyone. i can use the push to talk button to light up my little green light but that is about it. i know it is not my mic that is bad or the mic volume that is messed up because when i go into the mixer for SB i can click the little dot under the mic symbol and then i hear myself through my headphones. i can talk into the mic and hear myself. so the mic is working, and it sound quite good.

but it doesnt work when i click press to talk button and i can hear myself (i always hear myself now for some reason, the mic is constantly on for some reason), but no one else can hear me.

i went into the settings menus, tried switchin between wave and direct sound, made sure that my sound card was selected. i have done everything. i am not sure what the problem is. i dont know if it is me setting up the sound card wrong or if TS is set up wrong, or if i am just a complete moron.

i have been searching this forum for a while now but havent found any posts reffering to the same situation i have. i even tried other fixes for other problems that i found on this forum thinking maybe that i would get lucky and accidentally fix it.

i have even downloaded the driver for SB live. not sure if that did much tho.

can anyone help me or should i just go cry in the corner of the room?

Can you record from the microphone?

I wonder if the record level or input selection has slipped (don't ask how, but the settings DO seem to slip).

If the mic seems to be permanently live to speakers, that means it's on in the PLAYBACK part of the mixer.
