Drivers for AC'97 Onboard Sound
Hey everyone,
Sorry for being a n00b, but I'm not very good with computer sound hardware and their respective driver software. I'm looking for the latest drivers for my AC'97 Onboard Sound system that came with my Epox 4G4A motherboard (the motherboard runs on the Intel 845G chipset). Does anybody know where I can find these? Thanks.

Thanks for the link, RIV@NVX, but I'm not really sure which driver I need. Any ideas?

none of them looked like an AC97 driver - I downloaded a hi-res picture of the board, and the only chip the right size/shape to be the AC97 codec had a Realtek logo (like a crab with its claws raised)
The ALC650 drivers from www.realtek.com.tw may prove useful http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/...&Software=True http://www.neowin.net/comments.php?id=10142 Yep! looks like if you do have the small square crab-logo'd chip at the edge of the board, these drivers should do nicely. At Gigabyte, I found a 16Mb sized 3.42 version, now either this driver is BIGGER than 3.45, Or Gigabyte made a futz of packing it, or there's a larger (and better) wavetable (not sure if AC97 drivers actually do this) http://tw.giga-byte.com/Motherboard/...XP%20Ultra.htm Last one on the page And CONFIRMED http://web.epox.com/html/motherboard...f32r3or23ro2J3 Realtek - and they have 3.37, as against Gigabyte's large 3.42, or Realtek's 3.45 or beta Last edited by Matth; Jun 26, 2003 at 06:47 PM. |
