Crackling WinXP/Audigy 0350 10k2

Was using a computer with an AMD Athlon 2500+ and could not get rid of the crackling noises. Lots of stuff all over the net about hardware conflict with the athlon and soundblasters. Changed over to an IBM thinkcentre M51. Same problem, tons of crackling in speaker output, also in real time recordings. Loaded the kx driver-crackling is almost gone except when there is any load on the video card (onboard).

Where do I look now? I'm about to pull the wireless card and try switching the audigy to a different PCI slot but I'm not very optimistic. I like having the livedrive for recording my originals and I don't really want to go back to 1/4" to 1/8" adapters. Any suggestions?
