I like the dedicated headphone output + circuitry, not something you see very often on consumer cards - very handy

Yes, more cards seem ot be coming avilable with the dedicated headphone amplifiers. This is one of the first ones I have seen with a opamps upgradable for the can amp though. I would like to hear what it has to offer.

This chip on is not X-Fi at all. It's XtremeAudio kind of thing.

Yes, gaming effects such as EAX 1,2,3,4 and OpenAL are handled through software.
